Tweet Cute review || hey demons, it’s me, ya boy

So I’m back with another book review, which I rarely ever write hahahhhh but YUP this book was a thing and here’s my thoughts on it!

Meet Pepper, swim team captain, chronic overachiever, and all-around perfectionist. Her family may be falling apart, but their massive fast-food chain is booming ― mainly thanks to Pepper, who is barely managing to juggle real life while secretly running Big League Burger’s massive Twitter account.

Enter Jack, class clown and constant thorn in Pepper’s side. When he isn’t trying to duck out of his obscenely popular twin’s shadow, he’s busy working in his family’s deli. His relationship with the business that holds his future might be love/hate, but when Big League Burger steals his grandma’s iconic grilled cheese recipe, he’ll do whatever it takes to take them down, one tweet at a time.

All’s fair in love and cheese ― that is, until Pepper and Jack’s spat turns into a viral Twitter war. Little do they know, while they’re publicly duking it out with snarky memes and retweet battles, they’re also falling for each other in real life ― on an anonymous chat app Jack built.

As their relationship deepens and their online shenanigans escalate ― people on the internet are shipping them?? ― their battle gets more and more personal, until even these two rivals can’t ignore they were destined for the most unexpected, awkward, all-the-feels romance that neither of them expected.

I thought this was going to be predictable, and it was (in a sense) but there were things I wasn’t expecting. There’s a large conflict right at the beginning of the book (other than the main plot). And just the whole hate-to-love thing was actually very well done and not at all toxic like most h-t-l relationships are. And idkkkk it seemed like it was going to be sooo predictable but it had twists in all the right places!

  • Pepper
    • A sassmaster
    •  Freckled
    • Swims
    • Bakes (monster cake sounds AWESOME tbh)
  • Jack
    • snarky and stressed
    • He made an app just to find macaroni and cheese near you. Like wow. I wish that was a real thing tbh.
    • A large mood
  • Pepper’s Mom
    • is described to look like a Karen
    • Kind of a Karen I guess??? Not really?? IDK??
  • Landon
    • honestly kind of annoying
  • Paul
    • I’m just mentioning him cause he’s the redhead and I have to, okay?
  • Mrs Fairchild
    • A mood
    • I would love to be in her class actually?

ROMANCE IN A GIF (if any):

I had a lot of trouble finding one but this is hilarious so yeah I guess?

This hate to love is AWESOME!!! AWESOMEEEEEE. *whispers* a w e s o m e .

Also I LOVE IT when there’s pictures in novels!! (not illustrated, but actual photographs)

The whole roast battle on Twitter was beautifuL!

Hang on…

Ethan is fully in my bedroom before I’m awake enough to properly scowl at him.

How is it I can fire off a stupid text to a guy I literally call Wolf without thinking twice, but when I’m actually confronted with a human being, by brain decides to take a hike?

I find out approximately two seconds later that it is very difficult to commit to a heated storm out of a bakery with a giant baguette in your hand.

That insanely amazing-sounding grilled cheese (9 3/4)

YESSSS!!! I was so SO scared that this was just gonna turn into another overhyped book for me, but I’m SO glad it lived up to my expectations! You’re totally right about how it was still unique despite leaning on the haters-to-lovers trope – there were definitely a few curveballs I wasn’t expecting 😱 ALSO OMG PEPPER’S MUM IS 100000% A KAREN HOW DID I NOT SEE THAT?!? 😂

The only thing that could’ve made this book more perfect is if Pepper’s blog had been real. I want a Monster Cake recipe! 😍

Why does everything you write come across as effortlessly cool. Not complaining, I’d just like to have some of your superpower. This book review is the best I’ve ever read because it’s so fresh and funny. Tweet Cute, here I come.

(Also, I’ve just discovered that you have a cat named Lupin and another one Lucius?! I cannot wrap my mind around how cool that it.)
