OWL readathon TBR | in which I cling to the desperate hope that I can get over my reading slump

I usually hate TBRs but um… here I am, writing a tbr. What has this world come to?? Anyway, I’m doing the Ordinary Wizarding Levels readathon in an attempt to force myself out of my reading slump.

Here’s the link to the website! RIGHT HERE

Wizarding Career: Hogwarts Professor

CHARMS: a book with a white cover

Gods At War by Kyle Idleman

DEFENCE AGAINST THE DARK ARTS: a book set at sea/at the coast

When I turned in my page # on the google form I *accidentally* said the Boy Who Steals Houses (it works) but I’m actually going to read Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard. So…

POTIONS: a book under 150 pages

I’m going to read Tales of Beedle the Bard!

DIVINATION: assign numbers to your TBR and use a random number generator to choose

Four Types of Love by CS Lewis

ASTRONOMY: read the majority of this book while it’s dark outside

I read the entirety of the Boy Who Steals Houses at night. Took me until… 12:15. #worthit

CARE OF MAGICAL CREATURES: a book with a beak on it

Aru Shah and the End of Time!

MUGGLE STUDIES: a book from the perspective of a muggle

Tweet Cute (I really need to read this book)

ALSO IF SOMEONE COULD EXPLAIN HOW THIS WORKS I WOULD BE FOREVER GRATEFUL

hahah the OWLs confused me slightly at first because I got confused with the NEWTs… you just read one per subject, then you ‘pass’ that OWL, and later on in August you can sit the NEWTs (another readathon) where you take only the subjects you passed at OWLs level and then have to read a particular number for each subject (e.g. Outstanding is 3 books, and G would design 3 different prompts for each subject). The subject grades at NEWTs determine whether you can make it to your chosen career I think.

I’m sorry too hear that you’re in the middle of a reading slump, I hope it goes away soon!
Best of luck with your OWL’s (I’m so glad to see you doing this one!) and you would be my favourite Hogwarts Professor, hands down 😉
